With no sugar other than that naturally found in oranges, this THM E orange vanilla granola is kind to your taste buds AND your waistline!
As someone who has been on Trim Healthy Mama for a few years (and fallen off the wagon more than once), I can honestly say this is granola that doesn’t make you long for the “real” thing. Healthy carbs at their finest!

Orange Vanilla Granola Equipment:
For equipment, heavy duty aluminum foil is a must. You could try non-stick parchment paper (if you do, please let me know how it turns out!) but please don’t waste time on the “standard” aluminum foil … it tears easily and this granola is quite sticky as it is baking.
I often end up “stirring” halfway through simply by removing the granola from the foil and baking it the remaining time directly on the cookie sheet. You could try baking it the entire time on the cookie sheet, but it is so sticky I don’t recommend this method.
Ingredients:
You could try sugar free vanilla protein powder in place of the unflavored whey protein powder, but reduce or eliminate the vanilla extract if you go this route.
I used Bake Believe white chocolate chips in this granola. Keep in mind that the granola AND the cookie sheet need to be at room temperature before you add the chips or they will melt (ask me how I found out).
Fresh orange zest works great in place of the dried orange zest, but if dried is all you have on hand, just use 1 tbsp as called for in the recipe below. If you have a fresh orange, I wash and zest the entire outside of the orange.
Are you convinced about this protein-packed granola yet? The recipe is waiting below!
