Ready for a THM FP (low carb, low fat) whipped “cream” that will knock your socks off? It’s even dairy-free AND sugar-free!
I’ve played with a few dairy free whipped cream recipes in the past, with dismal results. So you can imagine my delight when this recipe turned out not only to actually whip, but taste great!
The downside is that this recipe doesn’t hold its peaks very long – mine deflated before I was able to take pictures. If you whip the “cream” again before serving, I believe it will perk back up, however.
Although I designed this low carb, low fat whipped cream with a particular recipe in mind (coming soon), it would be great with other E or even FP desserts as well.
The best part is, you can enjoy heaps of it … there are no weird ingredients like you’d find on the list of a store-bought can, no preservatives, and no artificial sweeteners!
(Pyure is made with stevia and erythritol, both from or derived from plants. Keep i mind that if you prefer to use other sweeteners, you could easily sub in xylitol or another sweetener. You may have to tweak the recipe a bit if you use a liquid sweetener, however.)
Funnily enough, I was actually driven to create this recipe because I didn’t have any heavy whipping cream in the house, and didn’t want to go to the store. If I’d had the cream needed, the recipe I was trying to create would have been a crossover. Now it should be a solid E. It’s weird how those things work out sometimes.
Ready to enjoy even more decadent E and FP desserts? (You could use this cream on S desserts too, but it is not as rich as actual whipped cream … so if you can eat the “real stuff”, why not? Unless of course, you are trying to lighten up heavy S desserts. In which case, enjoy!)
Worried about the egg white in this recipe?
I used pasteurized egg white, which is generally consider safe unless you are pregnant or have a compromised immune system. However, I am NOT a doctor or a health professional, and cannot give medical advice. Please use common sense and choose another recipe if you believe it may be an issue.
If you make this recipe, please come back and let us know how it turned out!
